Team Manu Claessens 4 years experience - Manu graduated in June 2021 with a Master of Science in Statistical Data Analysis in Computational Statistics. Before that, he obtained a Master of Science in Biology in the Global Change Ecology track. His first work experience was a traineeship at Volvo Group combined with a day-to-day job as a Logistics Engineer at the truck plant in Ghent. Subsequently, he continued his data journey in March 2023 by accepting a position as a Data Scientist Associate in the Data Scientist Chapter at Volvo Group.
Team Laurens De Beule 2 years experience - Laurens obtained his Master of Science in Business Engineering with a specialization in Data Analytics at Ghent University in 2024. Driven by his passion for data analytics, machine learning and consulting, he joined element61 for an internship in the summer of 2023. During this internship, he focused on building an application leveraging OpenAI to speed up Lakehouse development. Concluding this internship, he had the opportunity to present his work at an AI meetup which was a very exciting experience.
Team Kwinten D'hont 2 years experience - Kwinten obtained his Master in Business Engineering with a specialization in Data Analytics from Ghent University. His master’s thesis was about identifying the key factors of tweets to assess the impact of gold mining companies on the stock market. During the summer of 2023, Kwinten already did an internship at element61, where he incorporated Great Expectations to monitor data quality into our acceleration kit.
Team Ruben Mertens 2 years experience - In 2024 Ruben obtained a Master in Business Engineering specializing in Data Analytics from Ghent University. During this academic journey, Ruben developed both important soft- and hard skills and he learned and enjoyed working in a group setting with his fellow students.
